Crafted by the skilled blacksmiths at Sakoda Hamono, each knife is produced through a meticulous, hands-on process—combining traditional forging, quenching, and hand-finishing techniques to achieve exceptional sharpness, precision, and balance.

The blade features a San Mai (three-layer) construction with a Shirogami #2 (White Paper Steel) carbon core, celebrated for its outstanding edge retention and ease of sharpening. Stainless steel cladding provides added protection and reduced maintenance, while the exposed carbon edge will gradually form a beautiful patina, enhancing both durability and visual character. The traditional Kurouchi (“blacksmith’s”) finish preserves the natural look of the forge and gives the knife a rustic, artisanal appeal.
