Handmade in Japan, this compact carving knife features a 70mm three-layer Aogami 2 (Blue Paper Steel) blade, renowned for its outstanding sharpness, excellent edge retention, and precision cutting ability. The blade is constructed with a hard Aogami 2 steel core clad between two layers of softer iron, creating an ideal balance of hardness, durability, and resilience. With a hardness of approximately 59 HRC and a double bevel edge, it delivers smooth, controlled cuts for carving, detailed work, and a wide range of everyday cutting tasks.

The elegant black handle gives the knife a clean, understated appearance while providing a comfortable and secure grip. It opens using the traditional Chikiri lever and incorporates a simple thumb safety to help prevent the blade from closing during use, maintaining the authentic design of a classic non-locking friction folder.

As the blade is crafted from high-carbon Aogami steel, it is not stainless and should be cleaned, dried thoroughly, and lightly oiled after use to preserve its cutting performance and help prevent corrosion. Camellia oil is recommended for long-term care.
