The Oem Maruyoshi Higonokami Carving Pocket Knife 100mm is a compact, precision-crafted Japanese folding knife designed for detailed carving, woodworking, and everyday carry. Handcrafted in Japan using traditional techniques, this knife blends timeless craftsmanship with practical functionality, making it a trusted tool for hobbyists, woodworkers, and outdoor enthusiasts.

The 95mm carbon steel blade delivers exceptional sharpness, edge retention, and durability, ideal for fine carving, whittling, and precision cutting tasks. Carbon steel is favored by craftsmen for its ability to take a razor-sharp edge, ensuring excellent control and accuracy during detailed work.

The knife features a solid brass handle, providing a balanced, secure grip while adding a classic, elegant appearance. Lightweight and compact, this Higonokami pocket knife folds safely for easy storage and transport, making it perfect for both on-the-go use and workshop carving.

Traditional Higonokami Adjustment Instructions

Due to its handmade nature, each Higonokami knife has unique characteristics, including blade tightness:

  • If the caulking becomes loose after long use, place the knife on a hard surface (such as an anvil) and gently tap it with a hammer to adjust.

  • If the blade is too tight to open, lightly strike the knife on a table with the Chikiri (tail) facing downward.

  • As every Higonokami knife is handcrafted, tightness and feel may vary from knife to knife.

Authentic Higonokami Craftsmanship

This knife is made by Nagao Kanekoma, the only manufacturer officially authorised to use the “Higonokami” trademark. Nagao Kanekoma continues the traditional Higonokami legacy, ensuring authenticity, quality, and adherence to classic Japanese knife-making standards.
