Having received the Red Dot Design Award 2013, the Seki Magoroku Composite Series is the symbol of contemporary design expertise stemming from the house of kai. The series combines dynamism and lightness: the composite blade composed of two different types of steel is adorned by a visible copper solder running along its length. The steel grades were manufactured separately and subsequently bonded using liquid copper. The resulting appearance is impressive and turns the blade into a highlight of high-tech engineering.In combination with the pale wooden handle, the series appears futuristic, light, and sophisticated. Considered to be between a Chef’s knife and a paring knife, the Utility knife or ‘the Petty’ is an all-rounder when it comes to the knives within a kitchen at the Chef’s disposal.
