Nesmuk's top of range chef's knives, some of the most complicated to make in the world, with 401 layers of Damasacus steel taking days to make the final cutting edge. Owning one of these is to own a knife made with exceptional craftsmanship.
The structure of the Damascus steel of the C150 series differs from that of the other EXKLUSIV series. The Damascus layers are made of special alloys that are flexible and at the same time produce and even more brilliant, very high contrast pattern. The 401 layers of the flexible Damascus steel enclose a cutting layer made from very pure carbon steel. This guarantees the absolute best sharpness and an exceptional hardness of 65 HRC. Thanks to the flexible Damascus steel on the outside, the hard cutting position is less prone to breakage in a perfect combination of hardness and flexibility.
The C150 blades are completely ground by hand in order to be able to work out the cutting position perfectly and in the centre. The double-sided, faceted hollow grinding is a very demanding work step that requires skill and a steady hand.
Only the best knife makers with many years of experience carry out this work in the Nesmuk factory.
Thanks to the glass-like NPC (Nesmuk Protective Coating) coating developed in cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute for Chemical Technology, the Nesmuk EXKLUSIV blades are protected against corrosion.
Hardly any other knife expresses the origin and consistency of craftsmanship as clearly as the handmade knives from Nesmuk. From fire welding and forging, hardening, tempering and grinding the hollow grinding to assembling the handle: more than four dozen steps are required to produce a Nesmuk EXKLUSIV C150 chef's knife - the masterpiece of the manufacture. The 180 mm long blade makes the knife an all-rounder in every kitchen. Carbon content: 1.5%.
These knives are made to order and delivery will take 3-4 weeks.
