The main cutting blade of Kasumi Kuro is made of Molybdenum vanadium steel (AUS8).
The blades are hardened to Rockwell C58.
Both sides of the knives have beautiful Damascus patterns of 32 layers.

Kasumi Nakiri is a Japanese style vegetable knife. It has a really straight blade so that you can cut down to the board without having to make a horizontal slicing action. This knife is perfect for cutting up vegetables such as squash, onions and carrots and you will really enjoy using this Kasumi Kuro knife. Please note this knife is not a meat knife and if used in this manner it will break.
