Which type of knife should I choose?

This is a matter of individual choice and the purpose for which the knife is being purchased. It is reasonable to begin with around 5-6 knives, to include a Chef’s knife, a smaller knife for dicing and cutting vegetables, a peeler, a knife for slicing meat or fish, a filleting/boning knife and a bread knife.
